Online discussion forum on "Human trafficking for labor exploitation" - 11th of March 2021

Today, 11th of March 2021, an online discussion forum was held on the topic "Human trafficking for labor exploitation" with the participation of students and lecturers from "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov" University in Burgas, specialty Social Psychology - 3rd and 4th year.

The forum is organized annually in partnership with the Faculty of Social Science at the "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov" University in Burgas and Assoc. Maria Dishkova, lecturer at the university.

During the meeting, the Secretary of the LCCTHB Burgas, Ms. Rositsa Yaneva, presented general information about the crime, as well as focused on human trafficking for labor exploitation as one of the leading forms of trafficking according to the statistics provided by the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria. During the event, the activities of the Local Commission and the institutions involved in counteracting the crime and protecting the victims were also presented. Specific cases in which the Local Commission and the specialized services for victims of the National Commission worked in Plovdiv were presented. In Burgas, the root causes and ways of involvement in trafficking, mechanism of exploitation, and control of victims were discussed.
