During the period from 30.07.2020 - 01.08.2020, within the BRIGHT (Building RIGHTs- based and Innovative Governance for EU mobile women) project "Supporting the labour rights of EU mobile women workers", Montana hosted a training for local labour mediators. The project is implemented by the Centre for Sustainable Community Development and aims to promote innovative partnerships for the social inclusion of mobile women workers and the exercise of their rights in the EU.
Within the framework of this training, an invitation for patronage was extended to the Secretary of the LCCTHB -Montana. His task was to familiarize the participants in the training with the nature of human trafficking, according to the Law on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, the groups at risk, the work in the network on identified cases of human trafficking under the National Mechanism for Referral and Assistance to Victims of Trafficking, the types of trafficking according to the type of exploitation, ways to prevent and involve in such a situation, the consequences on the personality of the victims of the crime.
The training was attended by 17 women, including health mediators from 5 municipalities in Montana, youth mediators, representatives of the Montana Regional Administration - specialists in regional development and gender equality, a representative of the Local Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings - Montana, representatives of NGOs, the Municipal Council on Narcotic Drugs and other institutions.
