The Local Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (LCCTHB) in Sliven, in partnership with the General Directorate "Execution of Punishment" or the Sliven Prison carried out the annual information campaign for the prevention of human trafficking for sexual exploitation and forced prostitution.
Within the framework of the partnership initiative, 73 women from the Sliven Prison were covered along with those from Open-type Prison Dormitories (OPD) "Sliven" and "Ramanusha". There were 5 screenings of the short film "The Seaside", provided to the LCCTHB Sliven by the A21 Bulgaria Foundation. The women also discussed the possibilities for reporting the crime through the National Anti-Trafficking Hotline - 080020100.
The main strategic goal of the initiative is to support the process of successful social reintegration of women after serving their sentences and leaving prison, by providing information about the crime of human trafficking, the most common methods of involvement, and ways to prevent from falling into sexual exploitation and forced prostitution.
