Sliven held a specialized training for pedagogical specialists from the region "Involving parents in the process of prevention of risky behavior in children, with a focus on counteracting sexual exploitation and early marriage"


Today, April 20, 2023, a specialized training for pedagogical specialists from the region on "Involving parents in the process of prevention of risky behavior in children, with a focus on counteracting sexual exploitation and early marriage" is held in Sliven. The event is organized by Vladimir Drumev, secretary of the Local Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (LCCTHB) Sliven in partnership with the Municipality of Sliven and NCCTHB under the Council of Ministers.

The specialized training was opened by Pepa Chilikova, Deputy Mayor "Humanitarian Activities" of Sliven Municipality and Chairperson of LCCTHB Sliven, who welcomed the organizers and participants and emphasized that one of the long-term policies set in the activities of the Local Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings is the involvement of parents in the prevention process. Practice shows that active and direct involvement of parents in prevention work, as well as good communication and interaction between parents, schools and institutions, is a key mechanism for recognizing risky situations, reporting sexual exploitation and stimulating civic activism on counter-trafficking. 

Vladimir Drumev, Secretary of the LCCTHB Sliven, thanked the participants for their active role in the process of building on the targeted prevention activities on the dangers of being involved in human trafficking, with a focus on counteracting and preventing sexual exploitation.

The lecturer of the training is Vesna Nencheva, psychotherapist and lecturer at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and an expert on minority and integration issues at the European Commission. 

The event was attended by 29 pedagogical specialists from the cities of Sliven, Nova Zagora, Kotel and the villages of Gradets, Zhelyu Voyvoda, Gavrailovo, Sotiria, Seliminovo, Samuilovo, Sborishte, Topolchane, Kamen and Konyovo.
