
In the period 28 - 29 March 2022, an Academy for volunteers was held on the online platform "Zoom", organized by the Local Commissions for Combating Human Trafficking in the cities of Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, Veliko Tarnovo and Montana. The event was organized in cooperation with the A21 Campaign Bulgaria Foundation and with the support of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings.
The initiative was attended by about 30 students from Plovdiv region including students from the Professional Highschool for Mechanicl Engineering, the National Trade High School; SU “Sv. Paisii Hilendarski”; Professional High School of Household Equipment; Mathematical High School "Acad. Kiril Popov"; High School "Brothers Evlogy and Hristo Georgiev", Karlovo and "Zlatyu Boyadzhiev" Secondary School, Brezovo.
The Anti-Trafficking Academy provides an opportunity for young people, as part of the prevention activities of the Local Commissions, to acquire basic knowledge about human trafficking and its different forms, volunteering and the role of the internet and social media as a method of involvement in crime.
The trainers during the event were the secretaries of the four local committees, including Christian Makarov from the A21 Campaign Foundation Bulgaria.
The main goal of the organizers is to raise awareness and recognition of the problem among young people, because TRAFFIC HAS MANY FACES!
