LCCTHB - Veliko Tarnovo celebrates 30 July - World Day in support of victims of trafficking

On July 30, 2021, the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo - The Local Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings joined the global initiative "Blue Heart Campaign" organized on the international day for combating trafficking in human beings. The event, which was organized on this occasion, took the form of a kind of open lesson in the prevention of the crime of trafficking in human beings, in which children and young people from the social services in Veliko Tarnovo Municipality took part. The children, together with their educators, decided on a crossword on the topic, solved puzzles, discovered words and concepts related to the International Day, participated actively in the discussion and discussed the risks of getting into traffic and ways of protection. In the end, all of them left their messages on blue hearts — in support of victims of human trafficking.      

The event was attended by Mrs. Rositsa Dimitrova – Vice-President of the LCCTHB and Director of the Social Activities and Health Directorate at Veliko Tarnovo Municipality, Associate Professor Dr. Mariella Todorova – Dr. Mariela Todorova - lecturer at the University of Transport " St. St. Cyril and Methodius", Mrs. Hristina Stancheva – Secretary of the “Local Commission for Combating Anti-Social Behavior of Minors” at Veliko Tarnovo municipality, Managers and experts from social services, as well as many like-minded people of the cause. All together again appealed "DON'T BET YOUR FATE ON A MAP!"
