On July 2, 2021 at the Center for Prevention and Sport in the city of Balvan, Veliko Tarnovo municipality, was held training on "Trafficking in human beings and risky situations for children on the internet. Identification and support in the social service “Centre for work with children and youth” ", aimed at the Administrators of the Centers for work with children and youth on the territory of Veliko Tarnovo municipality.
The focus of the event was the work with children, young people and adolescents, who are presumed to be a particularly vulnerable group for falling into a situation of trafficking in human beings through the Internet because of the accessibility of the network, the anonymity of the persons on it, as well as because of the peculiarities of teenage age.
The aim of the training was to help both the participants –caretakers of the Centre for work with children and youth, as well as the main target group (children and young people) with which they work on a daily basis, especially at present – in a situation of Covid-19, social isolation and dissertation training. Attention was focused on both prevention - how to organize prevention and information campaigns in the small settlements where Centers for work with children and youth are positioned, as well as on the identification of children victims of trafficking and violence - who can carry it out, formal and informal identification, indicators, etc. The topic of the sale of babies was also touched upon, and for this purpose the participants watched a video, produced and provided by the NCCTHB and LCCTHB - Burgas.
A total of 20 people attended the training - the caretakers of the Centre for work with children and youth, representatives of the Directorate of Social Activities and Health, the Secretary of the Local Commission for Combating Anti-Social Behavior of Minors (, the manager of the Crisis Centre in the village of Balvan. The leader of the training was Ms. Vanya Ananieva - Secretary of the Local Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings.
