Sliven hosts an online discussion forum with students on the topic "Policies for counteracting and preventing the crime of human trafficking and promoting safe use of the internet"


On March 1st, 2021, an online discussion forum on "Policies for counteracting and preventing the crime of human trafficking and promoting safe use of the Internet" was held in Sliven with students from the specialty "Pedagogy" at the Technical University Sofia, Faculty and College Sliven.

In the framework of the online discussion forum, Vladimir Drumev, Secretary of the Local Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings Sliven, introduced the students to the current forms and trends in the crime of human trafficking with a focus on the link to cybercrime, in the context of new models of exploitation, including pornography, the use of live webcams and remote live sexual abuse.

The role of the LCCTHB Sliven in the process of implementation of the state policy and strategy for prevention and counteraction of human trafficking and protection of victims was presented, as well as the experience of the local commission in targeted prevention of various forms of human trafficking, both at the level of individuals and at the level of family, group, and society.

Emphasis was put on the active work of the LCCTHB Sliven in strengthening the role of parents in the process of prevention and counteraction of human trafficking and the communication "parents-school-institutions" and the importance of good coordination and signaling in the presence of risk situations.
