Local Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings - Sliven part of the Walk For Freedom 2020 initiative

For another year the Local Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings - city of Sliven is taking part in one of the largest information campaigns in the world against trafficking in human beings Walk For Freedom 2020.

COVID-19 has changed the way we can come together locally and globally, but our mission is still the same - to abolish modern slavery everywhere, forever. This year's initiative is titled "The Importance of Freedom" and due to the epidemic situation will be held entirely online. 

A21 Bulgaria together with the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and the Local Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings - city of Sliven in partnership with Europe Direct - Sliven and the Professional School of Hotel Management and Tourism "Acad. Nedelcho Nedelchev - city of Sliven are joining efforts to raise awareness about human trafficking in a new way.

IIn the period 17 September - 17 October 2020. We call on you to support the cause and show your creativity by drawing, singing, dancing, photographing or writing what freedom means to you and posting your work on social media with the hashtag. #ЗначениетоНаСвободата / #TheMeaningOfFreedom 

Dedicated to the European Day against Trafficking in Human Beings (18th of October), the campaign brings together citizens with an active public stance, partners and supporters in the fight against human trafficking, aiming to draw the attention of Bulgarian citizens to the enormous scale of the crime and trade in human lives.

 

 

The initiative also aims to promote the National Anti-HumanTrafficking Helpline, which receives signals around the clock and is free of charge on 0800 20 100.
